The River Ashop from the A57 (Snake Pass Road) near Bellhagg. George and William CLAYTON were born at Bellhagg  (aka Bell Hay), which was a farm on the Hope Woodlands Estate. The ruined farmhouse is just over a mile from where this photo was taken.
