The baptism of Henry James has not been found, but sources in South Africa give his date of birth as 2 January 1791.

[records appear under St.Peter and St.Paul but this church was built in 1844 to replace the old parish church of All Saints, which fell into disrepair. All Saints was restored in the 1930s and is now a church hall]
