James RANDALL was baptised on 9 March 1777 in All Saints, Westbury, Wiltshire, the son of James RANDALL and Sarah HARMAN.

 

James RANDALL married (1) Ann O'BRIEN by banns on 28 May 1792 in All Saints, Westbury, Wiltshire

Witnesses: John CURRIER and Barker NEWMAN

 

James and Ann had the following children, all baptised in All Saints, Westbury:

Richard baptised 2 February 1794 (born 31 December 1793)

Elizabeth baptised 6 September 1795 (born 8 June 1795)

John baptised 17 June 1798 (born 30 April 1798)

Samuel baptised 8 February 1801 (born 20 January 1801)

Mary baptised 10 February 1805 (born 20 January)

Of these children only Mary accompanied her father and step mother to the Cape.

£17:10s deposit paid for James RANDALL of Chalford to emigrate to the Cape of Good Hope.

 

The family of James RANDALL appears on the return made by John COLSTON of Frome, originally accepted as a Party Leader. When COLSTON was recalled to his regiment after Peterloo this party was merged with Samuel JAMES' Party from Westbury
