Death Notice (Cape Archives) of his wife Ann, who later married Joseph TROLLIP, shows that her maiden name was SHEPHERD and that she came from Leeds.

Thomas SIMPSON and Ann SHEPHERD were married by Licence on 11 January 1797 in St.Peter's, Leeds

 

Archbishop of York Marriage Licence Index states that Thomas was 28 and came from Wakefield
