Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he was born in Staffordshire, son of John and Elizabeth STANLEY

John STANLEY of the town of Salford, salesman and Sarah GREEN,spinster of Salford and minor, were married by Licence on 25th February 1811 in St Mary, St Denys and St George, Manchester.

John STANLEY's correspondence refers to one child who probably died prior to sailing. John's Death Notice lists no children.
