Death Notice (Cape Archives) says he died at the house of Mrs. CUTLER at 13 Wood Street, Chelsea.

 

Grahamstown Journal (29 January 1859)

 

DIED 24th Nov 1858 at Chelsea, near London, Mr. C. GRUBB, aged 57 years, one of the settlers of 1820, being on a visit to his fatherland .... His remains were buried in his native village, Streatly, Berkshire.
