St.Clement Danes Church, The Strand, was opposite the Crown and Anchor Tavern, where a public meeting was held in 1819 to publicise the emigration scheme. Christian OCHSE and Caroline WIEPERT (parents of the settler Christian George OCHSE) were married in this church, as were William STANTON and Eliza MOXON. Peter Clarke DANIEL (eldest son of Peter Clarke DANIEL and Eliza JACKSONS) was baptised in St.Clement's, as were Thomas Francis (son of Thomas Sellom KING), Joseph, Henry and William LATHAM and Mary Ann (daughter of Thomas ROBINSON).
