St.Peter's Church (1800). The church was demolished in 1922. William GRIFFITH and Ellen HIGHAM were married in this church. Margaret COWIE, daughter of James and Mary COWIE, was baptised here, as were the younger children of Robert FOXCROFT and Edward TUDOR, son of Charles TUDOR and Bridget PARKER. The site of the church in Church Street is now marked in the pavement by a Maltese Cross.
