St.Chad, Poulton-le-Fylde. Robert KELBRICK and Betsy CRONE, parents of the settler Robert KELBRICK, were married in this church in 1783. The affix le-Fylde ("in the district called the Fylde") was added in 1842 with the arrival of the Penny Post to distinguish the town from Poulton-le-Sands, a village that is now part of Morecambe. When Robert KELBRICK lived here the town would simply have been called Poulton.
