            Lincoln, St.Benedict. Lydia BATTYE, mother of the settler Joseph HEWSON, who emigrated with her third husband as Lydia SOUTH, was described as being from the parish of St.Benedict when she married Joseph HEWSON Senior in 1796 in St.Mary le Wigford. St.Benedict's Church is a stone's throw from St.Mary the Wigford on the other side of the High Street.
