1707 (letter 19 - Church board, Pierre Villiers, DeVilliers) - notes
French addition by Pierre de Villiers
It basically states that the elders of the church at Drakenstein agree that monsieur Le Boucq cannot stay on as minister at Drakenstein to fill the vacancy. There is no church and no house for him. He cannot live or preach God's word in a grass covered mud-hut and will remain at the Cape until the authorities have built a church and house (Le Boucq had many more demands, see his letter dd. 14 Apr 1707). The elders also willingly give their consent to the proposal by Le Boucq, that he will visit Drakenstein 4 times per year to deliver the holy sacrament.
